“Your client does not support opening this list with Windows Explorer” in Vista IE8
You must probably be reading this post and asking yourself if I’m gonna give you one more answer of 100.000 different answers that there exist in Internet to solve this problem.
I’m not…
Actually I did those 100.000 different solutions and none solved my problem but I didn’t actually solve the problem… i just found a workaround.
Workaround
Since I figured out that getting though the Webdav adress, this would ask me for authentication, I thought that Internet Explorer wasn’t passing through this. Funny, I had already added the address to my Trusted Sites.
Well… and another thing.. I don’t have any proxy!
So what I found was that setting a proxy with a fake
proxyname and port, we must bypass local and then in the advanced exceptions list,
place the value * in to this text box to get access to both the internet
and intranet where a proxy is not being used. If you use a proxy then place
the real proxy name and port into the proxyname box. If you use automatic
connect then find out what your proxy address is then remove automatic and
place the proxyname into the proxy box.
Well.. good luck Sharepointing!
